Offshore Wind

We have provided Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and monitoring for some of the world’s largest offshore windfarms.

We also provide marine mammal mitigation, monitoring and advice through our fully qualified Marine Mammal Observers and our consultants who are experts in their fields.

We have successfully delivered numerous large-scale benthic surveys for the offshore wind sector throughout the UK and elsewhere in Europe with a particular focus on sites in Scottish waters over recent years.

These include surveys across Scotland’s largest OWF zones including Berwick Bank, Seagreen and West of Orkney OWFs.

We conducted benthic surveys across a further five Scotwind sites in 2023 on behalf of BlueFloat Energy / Falck Renewables (Bellrock, Broadshore, Sinclair and Scaraben OWFs), Northland Power (Spiorad Na Mara OWF) and Mainstream Renewable Power / Ocean Winds (Arven OWF).

We also work extensively with most leading OWF developers, including Ørsted, RWE, SPR, SSE, Vattenfall, Simply Blue Energy / Blue Gem Wind, Floventis, Floatation Energy and others.

Furthermore, we have developed relationships as the ‘go to’ provider of offshore and intertidal benthic ecology services to many of the leading offshore geophysical survey contractors including N-Sea, ROVCO, Fugro, Terrasond, iSurvey, GeoXYZ and others.

And we regularly work closely with major EIA consultancies, including RPS, Royal Haskoning, AECOM, ERM, OWC, WSP and Wood.
