Helping you safeguard the marine environment

Ocean Ecology Ltd was established by marine biologists and we are passionate about the protection of the marine environment. We believe that, through sound regulation and governance, this can be achieved alongside the sustainable use of the natural resources it provides.

Since we were incorporated in 2014, we have worked with the UK’s most forward-thinking operators and regulators in the marine environment. Our services have been used in many of the UK’s most significant marine infrastructure projects.

We are now a leading provider of specialist marine ecological surveys, analysis, consultancy and applied research all over the world.

Key to achieving this has been establishing a team of highly skilled marine scientists who share the same beliefs as the company’s founders. They are supported by our continuous investment in our facilities for both laboratory and fieldwork.

Our operational approach

Constant innovation is a cornerstone of our work. We have introduced and developed advanced in-house techniques, such as 3D Photogrammetry and eDNA analysis, which enable us to provide better, faster and more accurate results for our clients while reducing disruption to the marine environment.

Each project is led by a Project Manager, creating a single point of contact for clients to ensure they are always dealing with someone familiar with all their requirements.

Almost all our services are fulfilled in-house and most of the equipment we use is our own. This one-stop-shop approach provides operational flexibility and helps us avoid slippage.

Advancement through science

We believe that sharing our scientific knowledge wherever possible will help identify solutions for operators in the marine environment and protect this vital resource.

Ocean Ecology is involved in collaborative and original research and our scientists are encouraged to share their work through publication.
