Intertidal Fish Surveys
Our experienced field teams routinely perform multi-method intertidal fish surveys that comply with the Water Framework Directive (WFD).
They also provide both shellfish stock assessment and sampling of marine and migratory fish species in coastal and estuarine environments.
Multi-method sampling in our intertidal fish surveys is conducted using WFD-compliant approaches, incorporating:
- adult and juvenile seine netting
- fyke netting
- cast netting
- gillnetting
We also provide stock assessments of commercial cockle and mussel beds in the intertidal zone, often involving Dutch wand walk-over surveying, drone-mapping techniques and grab sampling aboard vessels at high water.
